Guest speaker: Michael DeLong, MD
Dr. DeLong is a resident in the UCLA Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Program. He attended UC Berkeley for his bachelor’s degree and obtained his medical degree at Duke University. Dr. DeLong is conducting multiple research projects through our division that have been awarded prestigious grants.
He has spent the past year completing his research year at the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health working with the general surgery and plastic surgery regulatory branches as a clinical consultant and project leader. Most recently, Dr. DeLong was selected as the recipient of the 2019 Plastic Surgery Foundation Bernard G. Sarnat Excellence in Grant Writing Award for his research grant application, "Silicone toxicity and auto-immune disease in breast implant patients." In residency, Dr. DeLong has also been awarded the Highest In-Service Exam Score for 2017 and 2018.
